proving parallel lines project
Paragraph:
If line M is parallel line N then <1 is congruent to <2.If <1 is congruent to <2 then line M is parallel to line N due to the converse of alternate Exterior Angles.If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal,then the two pairs of alternate exterior angles are congruent.

Remember, on your 2nd example, <1 and <2 were not corresponding angles, they both need to be above each parallel or below it. <1 and <2 in your example are same-side interior angles and together they = 180 degrees.
